How to Setup and Use the Ledger Nano S in 10 Easy Steps

Step 1: Go to https://shop.ledger.com/pages/ledger-live and download Ledger Live.
Step 2: Find and open the Ledger Live application on your computer. Click on “Initialize as new device” and then select which device you have.
Step 3: Connect you Ledger device to your computer. “PIN code” screen should open up on Ledger device, create a pin code
Step 4: Ledger device will show a 24-word recovery phrase. Write down each word as shown on the device. Ledger will then ask you to confirm each word
Step 5: Answer the Security checklist questions according then follow the steps for the Genuine check.
Step 6: Your ledger device is now ready, click “Open Ledger Live.”
Step 7: Go to “Manager” tab on Menu, click “Install” next to Bitcoin under App catalog, and then click “Add Bitcoin account” after app is installed.
Step 8:
Add Bitcoin to you Ledger device: Connect and unlock you Ledger device, then open the Bitcoin app on your device. Add new account on Ledger Live (you can change the name of account to your preferences), select the account and click “Add account.”

Step 9: Click the Receive tab on the Ledger Live menu and select your Bitcoin account. Then connect and unlock you Ledger device and open the Bitcoin app on your device. Verify the Bitcoin address shown on your Ledger device and confirm. Your Bitcoin address will be shown on Ledger Live, copy that address.
Step 10: Log into your Coinbase account. Go to “Accounts” and under the BTC Wallet section, click “Send.” Paste your Bitcoin address that you copied from Ledger Live (double check to make sure it is the right address) and type in the amount of Bitcoin you want to send to your Ledger device.
Step 11:
Send Bitcoin out of Ledger Device: Click the Send tab on the Ledger Live menu and select your Bitcoin account. Then connect and unlock you Ledger device and open the Bitcoin app on your device. Verify the transaction details on your Ledger device.
